Costume Design
Christine Crook
Christine Crook designs for theater, dance, and opera across the Bay Area. She is the resident costume designer with Opera Parallèle, and is a company member of Shotgun Players and Just Theater in Berkeley, CA. Recent credits include Hamlet (Shotgun Players), Powder Her Face (West Edge Opera), Champion (Opera Parallèle), and Graham Reynolds's experimental opera Pancho Villa From A Safe Distance (Ballroom Marfa). Upcoming projects include Les Enfants terribles (Opera Parallèle) and Black Rider (Shotgun Players). In 2015 she was awarded a Theater Bay Area CA$H Grant for her costume design-driven project Hawkmoon, and the Bridging the Gap Grant in 2016 from Shotgun Players for her continued experimentation with costume design with Institut für Alles Mögliche in Berlin. Ms. Crooks has an MFA in costume design from UC San Diego and is the recipient of two San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards. She teaches costume design at the University of San Francisco and Academy of Art University.
