Bogna Bartosz
Bogna Bartosz was born in Gdansk (Danzig), Poland. She studied singing at the Gdansk Academy of Music with Alicja Legiec–Matosiuk and at the Academy of Arts Berlin with Ingrid Figur and Anna Reynolds. Since 1987 Ms. Bartosz has lived in Berlin, and she has performed in leading concert halls in Germany, as well as throughout Europe, the US, and Israel. In 1992 she won the first prize of the IX International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig and the Special Prize of the Central German Broadcasting Company Leipzig (MDR).
Ms. Bartosz’s festival appearances include the Rheinsberger Musiktage, Greifswalder Bach-Woche, Richard Strauss-Festival Garmisch-Partenkirchen, MDR Musiksommer, Festival International de Santander, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Dresden Festival of Modern Music, and the Berliner Festwochen. She has been heard in concerts with orchestras including the Berlin Baroque Orchestra, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Musica Antiqua Köln, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra Tel Aviv, Minnesota Orchestra, and the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Bartosz can be heard in recordings with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and in numerous recordings on German radio. These performances mark her San Francisco Symphony debut.
