Welcome the Year of the Dragon with the San Francisco Symphony! Join us for this beloved annual celebration of music and community at Davies Symphony Hall.
The evening begins with preconcert lobby festivities and entertainment. The concert, conducted by Mei-Ann Chen, draws upon a wide range of Asian traditions, spotlighting vibrant artists and music to commemorate the holiday.
Dinner sponsors will enjoy an enhanced experience with preconcert receptions and the celebratory banquet following the concert.
Proceeds from the Lunar New Year celebration support the Symphony’s artistic, education, and community programs, benefiting tens of thousands of people.

What is this year’s San Francisco Symphony Lunar New Year?
Lunar New Year: Year of the Dragon is a beloved annual celebration of music and community at Davies Symphony Hall.

What is the minimum age to attend the event?
All ages are welcome to the pre-concert festival reception and concert. The minimum age to attend the banquet dinner is 21 years of age. If you do not meet the minimum age requirement, you will not be admitted.
What is the dress code?
The dress is festive cocktail attire.

5:00PM: Concert (no intermission)

What time does the concert start?
Saturday, February 17, 2024, 5:00PM. Doors open at 4:00PM.
Do all VIP ticket purchasers have access to the Ruby Reception?
No, only supporters at the Ruby, Jade, Emerald, and Sapphire levels are invited to the Ruby Reception in the Wattis Room.
Do all concert ticket purchasers have access to the preconcert lobby activites?
Yes, all ticket purchasers have access to the activities on the Orchestra, Loge, and First Tier lobbies.
What time does the event conclude?
The concert will end around 6:30PM. The Banquet Dinner concludes around 9:30PM.
If I purchased a table, how do I submit the names of my guests?
Please email [email protected] with your guests names and dietary restrictions.
When will I find out my dinner seating location?
You will receive your seating assignment for the Banquet Dinner when you check-in the night of the event.

When will I get my concert tickets?
You will receive your tickets as requested, whether digitally to your email or in the mail prior to the event.

Box Office staff are available at 251 Grove Street, San Francisco from Monday through Friday from 10AM to 6PM, on Saturday from Noon to 6PM, and two hours before all performances.

Where do I check in for the event?
Please enter through the Box Office on Grove Street to check in for the event.
Where do I park?
All dinner purchasers will be offered complimentary parking in the Performing Arts Garage at 360 Grove Street. For concert-only patrons, suggested parking is located at the Civic Center Garage between Polk and Larkin, and Grove and McAllister Streets.
As traffic is anticipated, we encourage you to allow for extra time for travel so that you may enjoy your experience to the fullest.
How do I provide my parking e-Ticket to the Performing Arts Garage?
Please present your parking e-Ticket to the attendant upon entrance to the garage. The attendant will provide you with a ticket to use upon exiting.
The IRS has not yet issued guidance governing contributions from Donor Advised Funds. The sector “best practices” regarding grants from Donor Advised Funds, Private/Family Foundations, and Corporate Foundations have been evolving. Individual donors are not able to accept benefits in return for contributions made from a Donor Advised Fund. Consult with your DAF or tax advisor to determine the tax treatment of contribution and any other restrictions that apply to DAF grants.
