Biography

Tony Yazbeck (Gabey) most recently starred in the Broadway production of Finding Neverland. He also starred in Prince of Broadway in Japan and the Broadway revival of On the Town, for which he won the Astaire Award, and was nominated for Tony, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle awards. Mr. Yazbeck’s other Broadway credits include Billy Flynn in Chicago, Phil Davis in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Tulsa in Gypsy (for which he received an Outer Critics Circle nomination), Al in A Chorus Line, and Oklahoma! and Never Gonna Dance. Off-Broadway, he has starred in Fanny Hill at the York and in multiple shows for City Center Encores!. He has made regional appearances with the Alliance, Barrington, Williamstown, Hartford Stage, Goodman, Saint Louis Muny, Goodspeed, Signature, Trinity Repertory Company, Paper Mill, and Old Globe theaters, receiving the Connecticut Critics Circle Award and the Helen Hayes Award. Last year, Mr. Yazbeck was seen internationally in Kiss Me, Kate at the Royal Albert Hall in London. On television, he appeared in NBC’s Smash, and he also was in the feature documentary Every Little Step. Mr. Yazbeck’s own song and dance show, The Floor Above Me, was recently recorded and released digitally and on CD by P.S. Classics. He makes his San Francisco Symphony debut with these performances.
