Biography

Bass David Varnum (Grand Inquisitor/King Stanislaus) is in his twenty-fifth season with the SFS Chorus, and has performed numerous solos under music directors Herbert Blomstedt and Michael Tilson Thomas. He has performed and recorded with American Bach Soloists, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Coro Hispano de San Francisco, and is currently a section leader in the choir of Saint Dominic’s Church in San Francisco. Before coming to San Francisco from New York City, Mr. Varnum sang with and managed the Noonday Concert Series at New York’s Trinity Church Choir for many years.
