Jonathan Thomas
Tenor Jonathan Thomas, a native of Lawrence, KS, joined the San Francisco Symphony Chorus in 2014. He has appeared as a soloist with the SFS in Carmina burana and at SoundBox in Monteverdi’s Magnificat from the Vespers of 1610 and Pérotin’s Sederunt Principes. Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Kansas, and he completed apprenticeships at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Des Moines Metro Opera. He has made concert and opera appearances, in roles such as Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Laertes in Hamlet, Don Curzio and Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, and the role of the Raven in the world premiere of Robert Kapilow’s Summer Sun, Winter Moon with the Kansas City Symphony. He has also performed with the Kansas City Chorale and appeared on recordings as a soloist and ensemble member with the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers. Mr. Thomas currently sings with the chamber choir Cappella SF.
