Producer

Richard Slaney (producer) is managing and creative director of Rite Digital, a digital production company owned by the Philharmonia Orchestra of London. Rite Digital creates projects including websites, films, installations, and production pieces such as Duke Bluebeard’s Castle. Mr. Slaney’s previous projects include PLAY.orchestra (created with Southbank Centre and Central St Martins College); producing the Philharmonia’s Video Podcast series; and websites and films for the orchestra’s City of Dreams: Vienna 1900-1935 concert series and also for the concert series Infernal Dance: Inside the World of Béla Bartók. With conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, Mr. Slaney created RE-RITE, the Philharmonia’s interactive audio-visual installation, which won two Royal Philharmonic Society Awards. He and Rite Digital have created an audio-visual installation for the Philharmonia, based on Holst’s The Planets and titled Universe of Sound, to be premiered at London’s Science Museum this summer.
