Baritone
Matthew Peterson
Baritone Matthew Peterson grew up in the deep choral culture of Minnesota. He joined the San Francisco Symphony Chorus in 2011 and has made regular solo appearances with the SFS. Highlights include Boris Godunov (Chernikovsky), J.S. Bach's Magnificat, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy and Missa solemnis, and the Magnificat from Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 in the SFS SoundBox series. He has also made solo appearances in the Bay Area with Opera San Jose, in Washington DC with the Washington Master Chorale, and in the Czech Republic and Austria with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is passionate about chamber chorus music, and has performed regularly with Gaude, Cappella SF, and Clerestory. Mr. Peterson studied piano with Hans Boepple and voice with Paul Murray at Santa Clara University.
