Biography

Benjamin Pesetsky is Associate Director of Editorial for the San Francisco Symphony, where he edits the program book and organizes preconcert talks. He contributes program notes for the SF Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, and Melbourne Symphony, and has written for Early Music America, Classical Voice North America, Fanfare, and WFMT. As a composer, his music has been performed by the Guerrilla Composers Guild, San Francisco Civic Music Association, Tapestry Opera, Albany Symphony, WordSong, and the Shakespeare Concerts. He holds degrees in composition and philosophy from Bard College Conservatory and Bard College and has been in residence at the Banff Centre and Hambidge Center.
