Jonathan Tetelman
Tenor Jonathan Tetelman was born in Castro, Chile and grew up in central New Jersey. A graduate of the Mannes and Manhattan schools of music, he won second place in the 2018 New York International Vocal Competition, and first prize in the 2017 New York Lyric Opera Competition. In the 2019–20 season, Mr. Telelman performs the role of Rodolfo in La Bohème in his house debuts with the Royal Opera Covent Garden and Seattle Opera. He also sings the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca with Teatro Regio Torino, Malmö Opera, and Teatro Colón; makes his role debut as B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Opéra National de Montpellier; performs the title role of Werther with Gran Teatro Nacional de Lima; and joins soprano Kristine Opolais in a gala performance in Moscow. Mr. Tetelman recently made his Tanglewood Music Festival debut as Rodolfo with the Boston Symphony. He sang the role of the Duke in Rigoletto with Berkshire Opera Festival, Marco in Chadwick and Barnet's Burlesque Opera of Tabasco with New Orleans Opera, and Don José in Carmen at the French Embassy in Washington DC. He makes his San Francisco Symphony debut at this performance.
