Tenor, San Francisco Symphony Chorus

SFS Chorus member since: 2003

Hometown: Omaha, NE

Music schools I attended: University of Wyoming, Laramie; University of Nebraska, Omaha

Began singing (and studying cello): At age 8

Musical inspirations: My first voice instructor, Dwayne Price, who told me that singing baritone was a waste of my time because I had the makings of a great tenor voice!

If I were not a professional singer, I might be a: Tech geek and a visual artist working in glass/resin, both of which I currently pursue as an Senior Support Account Specialist for and my fledgling art studio of kiln-cast glass

Favorite composer: Mahler

Favorite vocal works: Bach, Mass in B minor; Corigliano, The Ghosts of Versailles; Adams, Harmonium

When I’m not working, I enjoy: Dinner parties with friends where we polish off all the wine and everybody gets their hands dirty

Recent reading: The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins; Chapterhouse, by Frank Herbert

On my CD player/iPod: Lungs, by Florence and the Machine; Cloudburst, by Eric Whitacre; Mysterium, by Ragnar Bohlin Vocal Ensemble; Night Work, by Scissor Sisters; Reincarnations, by Dale Warland Singers
