Biography

Megan Fairchild (Ivy) appeared on Broadway in the revival of On the Town, for which she received an Astaire Award nomination and a Theatre World Award. As a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, she has performed featured roles in George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, Coppélia, Donizetti Variations, Duo Concertant, Jewels, Raymonda Variations, Serenade, Tarantella, Theme and Variations, and Tchaikovsky Pas; Jerome Robbins’s Andantino, Dances at a Gathering, and The Four Seasons; Peter Martins’s Barber Violin Concerto, The Sleeping Beauty, and Zakouski; Alexei Ratmansky’s Russian Seasons and Namouna; Susan Stroman’s Double Feature; and Christopher Wheeldon’s DGV. She appeared as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the PBS Live from Lincoln Center telecast of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker in 2011, which was also screened in movie theaters worldwide. She was also seen in the AOL Original Series city.ballet. Ms. Fairchild is currently collaborating with and modeling for Cole Haan on their ZerøGrand line. She makes her San Francisco Symphony debut with these performances.
