Biography
Mark Deakins
Mark Deakins (Bøyg/Button-Molder) holds a degree in Comparative Literature from Brigham Young University, and studied acting at the University of California, San Diego. He began his acting career in Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s Tony award-winning Broadway play, The Grapes of Wrath. He has acted in numerous productions at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Public Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Hartford Stage, and The Guthrie Theatre, among others. Notable Los Angeles productions include Peter Hall’s Shakespeare trilogy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Measure for Measure, and Romeo and Juliet at the Ahmanson Theatre, Stephen Wadsworth’s production of Agamemnon at the Getty Villa Theatre, and creative collaborations at The Geffen Playhouse, A Noise Within, and The Colony Theatre. He has appeared in films and television, and voiced television and radio commercials, audio books, and video games. Mr. Deakins was the voice of the Sundance Channel and E! Entertainment’s Style Network for many years. He lives with his wife, his three sons, and his dog Max in Los Angeles.
