Conductor

Christian Baldini serves as Music Director of the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra and the Camellia Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento. He holds degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, the Pennsylvania State University, and the Catholic University of Argentina. Mr. Baldini regularly conducts the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina, the National Symphony of Portugal, Orquesta de Cámara de Chile, and the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. He has led operas at the Aldeburgh Festival and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and has been an assistant conductor with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Also a composer, Mr. Baldini has received commissions and performances from organizations such as the Orchestre National de Lorraine, Munich Radio Orchestra, Memphis Symphony, New York New Music Ensemble, and Southbank Sinfonia. His music is published by Babel Scores in Paris. In 2015 Linn Records will release a recording of Mr. Baldini leading Mozart arias and overtures with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He made his San Francisco Symphony debut in December 2014 and appeared with the Orchestra on subscription concerts last month leading John Luther Adams’s The Light That Fills the World.
