Overview

SF Symphony Collaborative Partner and flutist Claire Chase will present a one-night only performance of Marcos Balter’s Pan, a musical drama written for Chase and featuring solo flute, electronics, and community chorus. Balter’s work recounts the Greek myth of the legendary trickster flutist Pan while revealing the machinations that gave him his powers.

For this performance—which features a version of the piece specifically for her collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony—Chase and the Orchestra partner with Amateur Music Network, Casa Círculo Cultural, Openhouse, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco State University School of Music who will perform the piece alongside Chase.

This concert is held in the SF Symphony's SoundBox space.
300 Franklin St. (corner of Hayes), San Francisco
