BRUCE ANTHONY KIESLING has a national profile as a conductor and music educator, leading classical repertoire at Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl and conducting performances with Stevie Wonder and Juanes and Gloria Estefan.  

Based in Los Angeles, Mr. Kiesling is currently Music Director of the Adrian Symphony in Michigan and the Sequoia Symphony in California, and Artistic Director and Conductor of the School of Orchestral Studies at the NY Summer School of the Arts. He spent eight years as resident conductor of the Greensboro Symphony in North Carolina before relocating to California. He went on to serve as assistant conductor of the Pasadena Symphony and Pops, music director of the Pasadena Youth Symphony, and Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) conductor for the Los Angeles Philharmonic for five years. Mr. Kiesling is active in higher education where he served for three years on the faculty of the Longy School of Music of Bard College. Currently, he conducts the University Orchestra and Opera at the University of California Santa Cruz.
 
He has led full performances of the films Raiders of the Lost Ark, Psycho, and Casablanca, and he served as musical director for dozens of theater productions, including the original production of Darren Criss’s A Very Potter Sequel, The News in Revue, and They’re Playing Our Song at Reprise Theater starring Jason Alexander. Recently, he created several original orchestrations to accompany the rock band Journey’s performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
 
Mr. Kiesling holds graduate degrees from the University of Michigan, the University of Miami, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. This concert marks his San Francisco Symphony debut.
