Overview
Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt leads this program featuring Nielsen’s Fourth Symphony, a work that depicts the tenacity of life even in the most difficult of circumstances. Written during the First World War, Nielsen’s Fourth is an ode to overcoming destruction and a celebration of the human spirit. The program concludes with fate knocking on our door: Hear the most famous opening notes in all of classical music when the Orchestra performs Beethoven’s exhilarating and monumental Fifth Symphony.Due to complications brought about by COVID-19 we have temporarily suspended coffee and free donut service at our Open Rehearsals.
