Event Description
In the inaugural San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra concert conducted by new Wattis Foundation Music Director Daniel Stewart, our phenomenal young musicians ignite the stage with an action-packed dramatic showcase. Experience the sheer power and ravishing beauty of selections from Prokofiev’s ballet music, Romeo and Juliet, along with Grieg’s famed Piano Concerto performed by 2019 SFS Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition winner, Roger Xia. The program opens with Agnegram, a complex, jazz-inflected composition by Michael Tilson Thomas, dedicated to the memory of the SF Symphony’s extraordinary patron and friend, Agnes Albert.
