JUNIOR COMMITTEE

The Junior Committee of the San Francisco Symphony is a dynamic group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the Symphony through fundraising, audience development, and community engagement. The Committee’s signature fundraising event, Deck the Hall, is a beloved Bay Area holiday tradition that raises critical support for the Symphony’s education and artistic programs. Held annually at Davies Symphony Hall, the event features two family-friendly concerts preceded by festive receptions with children’s activities and entertainment.

In partnership with the Symphony’s Development team, Committee members help identify and secure VIP package purchasers and corporate sponsors, while also playing a key role in event planning and execution. Throughout the fall, members meet regularly to track progress, refine outreach strategies, and expand awareness through school communities, social media channels, and other family-focused networks.

Proceeds from Deck the Hall directly support Deck the Hall Community Day, which provides approximately 4,000 children from public and community programs the opportunity to attend the holiday concert free of charge. For many participants, it is their first experience visiting a concert hall and hearing a live orchestral performance. Event proceeds also benefit the San Francisco Symphony’s education and community programs, which serve more than 75,000 Bay Area students each year. Learn more at sfsymphony.org/Deck.

The Junior Committee meets monthly during the Symphony season to plan its fundraising efforts, support Symphony initiatives, and participate in a variety of social, musical, and volunteer events, including performances at Davies Symphony Hall.
