Laura Stanfield Prichard has been a preconcert speaker for the San Francisco Symphony since 1997 and also lectures regularly for San Francisco Opera and the Chicago Symphony. Her publications include prefaces for orchestral scores, translations of song and choral texts for the LiederNet Archive, and entries in the Encyclopedia of Latin American Popular Music and the New Grove Dictionary of American Music. She studied at Yale University, Emory University, and the University of Illinois, and holds master’s and doctoral degrees in choral conducting, library science, musicology, and education. She is a member of the SF Symphony Chorus and a former assistant conductor of the ensemble.
