Kevin Langan
Kevin J. Langan (Rocco) has enjoyed a career spanning more than thirty years and almost 1,300 performances covering a vast repertory of more than eighty roles. He has enjoyed long-time collaborations with San Francisco Opera, where he became the first artist in the company’s history to give 300 career performances, as well as the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Santa Fe Opera. He made his San Francisco Symphony debut last season as Hobson in Peter Grimes.
Engagements this season include Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro with Dallas Opera. In recent seasons, Mr. Langan’s appearances included the roles of Fafner in Das Rheingold and Siegfried, Hunding in Die Walküre, and Hagen in Götterdämmerung in excerpts of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen with Minnesota Concert Opera, Ezra Mannon in Marvin David Levy’s Mourning Becomes Electra with Florida Grand Opera, and Samuel in Un ballo in maschera with San Diego Opera.
Mr. Langan’s video credits include DVD releases of Turandot from San Francisco Opera, Aïda with Luciano Pavarotti, Samson et Dalila with Plácido Domingo, Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso with Marilyn Horne, Janáček’s Cunning Little Vixen from Maggio Musicale in Florence, and the PBS broadcast of Tobias Picker’s Emmeline. Mr. Langan's discography includes the Grammy-nominated Teldec recording of Le nozze di Figaro under Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and Emmeline, recorded live with Santa Fe Opera for Albany Records.
