Troy Cook
Highlights of American baritone Troy Cook’s 2014-15 season include role debuts as Germont in La Traviata with Central City Opera and Rodrigo in Don Carlo with Opera Philadelphia. He makes his company debut with Utah Opera as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, and returns to the role of the Marquis de la Force in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites with both the Portland and Winston-Salem symphonies. He makes his San Francisco Symphony debut with these performances. Future seasons include performances with the opera companies of Dallas, San Diego, and Austin.
Mr. Cook recently gave his first performances in the role of Ford in Hamburg State Opera's production of Falstaff and also made his debut with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte. Last season he bowed as Paolo in Simon Boccanegra with Kentucky Opera, Riccardo in Boston Lyric Opera’s I Puritani, Marcello in La Bohème with Pittsburgh Opera and North Carolina Opera, the Marquis de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and as Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music with Central City Opera. He also appeared in concert with the Jacksonville and Winston-Salem symphonies. In previous seasons Mr. Cook appeared as Father Palmer in Kevin Puts’s Silent Night with Opera Philadelphia, made his debut as Silvio in Pagliacci with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and performed Handel's Messiah with the Boise Philharmonic.
