Event Description
Due to the restrictions and concerns around COVID-19 and at the artist’s request, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán is being rescheduled. We look forward to presenting the “World’s Best Mariachi” at a later date, to be announced.
The acclaimed Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán returns to Davies Symphony Hall for an evening of vibrant and authentic mariachi music!
Founded by Don Gaspar Vargas in the 1890s, Mariachi Vargas has thrived for five generations and has become one of the most internationally celebrated ensembles in Mexican music history—boasting the title of “World's Best Mariachi” since the 1950s—and spurring national pride for what is recognized as Mexico’s classic sound. Now, the legendary 14-member ensemble joins forces with singer and actor Antonio Aguilar, Jr.—son of the famous “El Charro de Mexico” Antonio Aguilar—to ignite the stage with a high-energy concert of their all-time classic hits, Sun, May 3 at 7:30pm.
Don’t miss the spellbinding showmanship of the “World’s Best Mariachi”—and be sure to bring your friends and family: Groups of 10 or more receive 25% off tickets!
The San Francisco Symphony does not appear in this performance.
