Calendar update: February 23 & 24 SoundBox program canceled

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—The San Francisco Symphony announces the cancellation of previously scheduled SoundBox concerts on February 23–24, 2024. Conductor Thomas Adès had withdrawn from these dates due to a scheduling conflict with the Paris Opera’s performances of his opera The Exterminating Angel in February 2024. The Symphony will not be reprogramming these performances.

The remainder of the 2023–24 SoundBox series remains unchanged and features live programs with curators including violinist, singer, and composer Mazz Swift (December 8–9); SF Symphony Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen (March 8–9); and SF Symphony Collaborative Partner and roboticist Carol Reiley (April 5–6).

Ticketholders for the February 23–24 SoundBox program will be contacted with the option to exchange their tickets for a different concert, donate their tickets, or receive a refund for their purchase. For additional assistance with tickets, patrons can contact the Box Office by phone at 415.864.6000, email at [email protected], or in person at the Davies Symphony Hall Box Office, on Grove Street between Van Ness Avenue and Franklin Street in San Francisco.

Lead support for SoundBox is provided by The Barbro and Bernard Osher SoundBox Fund. Major support for the 2023–24 SoundBox season is provided by Trine Sorensen & Michael Jacobson.
