The San Francisco Symphony holds an annual Docent and Teacher Workshop designed to give school volunteers and educators the tools they need to prepare students for their upcoming Concerts for Kids performance. Students with a foundation of knowledge about the concert they will be attending have a more meaningful experience at Davies Symphony Hall, and it is our goal to support pre-concert preparation in the classroom.
The Docent and Teacher Workshop for the 2017-18 season will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 8:30am-noon at Davies Symphony Hall.
All school volunteers of the Symphony's Docent Program
Teachers and administrators who wish to learn more about the Concerts for Kids program to prepare their students for the upcoming concerts
Any educator or parent who wishes to learn more about the San Francisco Symphony, the Concerts for Kids program, and music in general
The workshop consists of:
Insight into the concert program with Conductor Christian Reif
An overview of concert logistics
Guided introduction to educational materials provided by the Symphony, including a Study Guide and CD of the concert repertoire
