As a Volunteer League of the San Francisco Symphony (SFS), Symphonix is a membership group of socially minded, professionally active young adults who share an interest in music and preserving the arts. Members support the organization through their membership events, educational programs, and concert meet-ups. Participation in Symphonix’s membership is subject to acceptance and observance of the organization’s following rules and policies.

As a valued member and/or representative of Symphonix, I acknowledge that Symphonix and the San Francisco Symphony reserve the right to discontinue memberships for any reason deemed necessary, and I commit to the following:

  • Treat all Symphonix members and guests with respect.
  • Support Symphonix and the SFS community to the best of my abilities.
  • Avoid behavior that could be considered harmful to my peers, society, or the reputation of Symphonix and/or SFS.
  • Avoid any behavior that to a reasonable person, or by determination of a Symphony or Symphonix representative, is unwelcome or causes another to feel uncomfortable or unable to enjoy Symphonix programming or membership.
  • Ensure that my guests abide by this code of conduct.

Symphonix and the San Francisco Symphony reserve the right to discontinue memberships for any reason deemed necessary. At the purchase or renewal of each membership, each and every member of Symphonix will be informed that by purchasing or renewing his or her membership, he or she accepts the Code of Conduct to ensure that he or she is fully aware of this Code of Conduct and the consequences for any violation.

In the event of a complaint about member or officer behavior or a member or officer’s failure to uphold the Code of Conduct as outlined above, the complainant shall report his/her concerns to a Symphonix or SFS representative. The SFS or Symphonix will investigate the allegation, which may include speaking with all relevant individuals and corroborating relevant facts, and appropriate action will then be taken, including disciplining or terminating the offending member or officer, and reporting to relevant authorities.
