The San Francisco League of the San Francisco Symphony was founded in 1980 by residents of the City who support and enjoy the San Francisco Symphony. It is one of nine volunteer groups in the Bay Area and coordinated by the Symphony’s Volunteer Council, established in 1973. The League’s mission is to stimulate community service, support the Symphony in audience development, and raise funds for the Symphony’s community and education programs.
The League’s primary fundraising event is coupled with the Symphony’s Día de los Muertos Community Concert and includes a seated Brunch, Auction and Speaker followed by the concert. Purchasers of the Brunch are also invited to an exclusive evening tour of the Altar Installations in Davies Hall followed by a reception with the artists. In its work to support the Symphony and its education programs, the League sponsors students of the Immaculate Conception Academy to San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra concerts in Davies Hall.
Volunteer orientation meetings occur throughout the year and are required for incoming volunteers.
