Marin League

The Marin League of the San Francisco Symphony was founded in 1965 by North Bay residents who support and enjoy the San Francisco Symphony. It is one of eight volunteer groups in the Bay Area coordinated by the Symphony's Volunteer Council. The League's mission is to encourage community service, support the Symphony in audience development, and raise funds for the Symphony's community and education programs.

The League's primary community focus is music education through the San Francisco Symphony's Concerts for Kids program. Interested league members train as docents and prepare students from schools around the Bay Area to attend Concert for Kids programs performed by the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Symphony Hall.

Throughout the year, League members enjoy a variety of local social and musical events, and San Francisco Symphony concerts at Davies Symphony Hall. Monthly general meetings are held in the evening and include a business meeting followed by either a musical performance or educational speaker.

The League's annual fundraiser is Planting the Seeds of Music, on Sunday, April 28, at the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael. The afternoon features a performance by San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra alumni, a special concert with San Francisco Symphony musicians, light bites and beverages.
