Junior Committee League

The Junior Committee League of the San Francisco Symphony is a group of individuals who support and enjoy the San Francisco Symphony. The Junior Committee was founded in 1980 and is one of eight volunteer groups in the Bay Area coordinated by the Symphony's Volunteer Council. The League's mission is to encourage audience development, encourage community service, and raise funds for the Symphony's community and education programs.

The Junior Committee's major fundraising event is the Deck the Hall holiday concert. Deck the Hall is an annual Bay Area tradition, featuring two family concerts in Davies Symphony Hall that include a post-concert reception complete with children's activities and entertainment. This event directly

supports Deck the Hall Community Day, which brings 4,000 children from public programs to this holiday concert, free of charge, providing many of them with their first opportunity to visit a concert hall and hear a live orchestral performance.

Deck the Hall proceeds also benefit the San Francisco Symphony's education and community programs, which reach over 75,000 Bay Area students annually. For more information visit sfsymphony.org/deck. The Junior Committee meets once a month during the Symphony season and focuses on its major fundraiser as well as a variety of local social and musical events and San Francisco Symphony concerts at Davies Symphony Hall. Membership is by invitation.
