More Tips for Visitors

  • Come as you are! Wondering what to wear? San Francisco is known for its casual, laid-back style, and the San Francisco Symphony is no exception. Our Box Office recommends that visitors "dress like you are going to a nice dinner," which, in San Francisco, means anything from jeans to cocktail dresses. Feel free to come in any attire. Visit our First-Timer's Guide for more information.
  • Take in the view. During intermission, visit the Second Tier level, where windows and balconies provide an amazing skyline view of San Francisco, with City Hall in the foreground.
  • Pre-order a drink and a bite. Before the performance, call 415-252-1937 or email davieshallpreorder@ggcatering.com to contact the concessionaire for Davies Symphony Hall: Global Gourmet Catering and place an order. When you arrive for the performance, tell the bartender you would like to place a pre-order. The purchase will be waiting for you at a table or the end of the bar when you return to the lobby at intermission. For more information on food and beverage programs, visit Hall Amenities.
  • Tour Davies Symphony Hall and visit the gift shop. Even if you can't take in a Symphony performance, landmark Davies Symphony Hall is worth a visit, and the Symphony Store is a unique place to shop for souvenirs. For information on tours and the Symphony Store, view our hall amenities.
  • Security: The San Francisco Symphony greatly appreciates your cooperation with measures that ensure the comfort and safety of our audience, artists, and employees. Oversized bags, parcels, or luggage measuring larger than 18"x15" must be stored at the complimentary Coat Check near the Box Office.
