Patrons’ Dinner
The Patrons’ Dinner draws an impressive crowd of San Francisco’s businesspeople, philanthropic leaders, and style icons – together under an exquisitely decorated tented pavilion. Loge or Main floor seating is yours at Esa-Pekka Salonen’s inaugural concert as Music Director. Joining him and the Orchestra on Opening Night are the Symphony’s eight Collaborative Partners: Nicholas Britell, Julia Bullock, Claire Chase, Bryce Dessner, Pekka Kuusisto, Nico Muhly, Carol Reiley, and Esperanza Spalding.
Continue the evening at the After-Party, with live music, dancing, signature cocktails and bites from renowned restaurants across the Bay Area. The exclusive post-concert Aria Reception with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Collaborative Partners is a benefit to purchasers at the Superstar and Aria levels.
Proceeds from the Opening Night Gala benefit the Symphony's myriad artistic, community, and education programs.

As you may know, the IRS has not yet issued guidance governing contributions from Donor Advised Funds. The sector “best practices” regarding grants from Donor Advised Funds, Private/Family Foundations, and Corporate Foundations have been evolving. Individual donors are not able to accept benefits in return for contributions made from a Donor Advised Fund. In effect, this means the Symphony is no longer permitted to offer benefits such as tickets to concerts/events and meals in exchange for such contributions.
The Symphony would be happy to accept payment directly from the individual/corporation for the published price of the event, and offer name recognition in programs and other materials based on the total amount received, including any additional gift from the Donor Advised Fund or Foundation. Please contact your Foundation, Donor Advised Fund or other professional advisors for guidance on your specific situation.
