Candide

Jay Armstrong Johnson can currently be seen on the ABC series Quantico. He recently starred in the Broadway revival of On the Town. His other Broadway credits include the original Broadway casts of Hands on a Hardbody and Catch Me if You Can, and the revival cast of Hair. Off-Broadway appearances include Wild Animals You Should Know at MCC Theater and Working with Prospect Theater Company, for which he won a Drama Desk Award. Other credits include Sweeney Todd with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan Gilbert at Avery Fisher Hall, also filmed for PBS; The Most Happy Fella with City Center Encores!;  and the first national tour of A Chorus Line. His regional credits include roles for the Old Globe, Barrington Stage Company, Saint Louis Muny, La Jolla Playhouse, and Weston Playhouse. He appeared in 35mm: A Musical Exhibition, also available on iTunes and from Sh-K-Boom Records, and he can be seen on television and film in Sex & the City 2 and Law & Order: SVU. Mr. Johnson recently made his solo cabaret debut at 54 Below; recorded live for release in the fall of 2016  He makes his San Francisco Symphony debut with these performances.
