Clyde Alves
Clyde Alves (Ozzie) has enjoyed a career in musical theater spanning twenty years, which has taken him across the world since his beginnings in Toronto, Canada. His work on Broadway includes the role of Ozzie in On the Town, for which he received an Astaire Award nomination, Bullets Over Broadway, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Anything Goes, Wicked, Hairspray, Oklahoma!, and Tommy Djilas in The Music Man, for which he won the Astaire Award. He reprised his performance as Tommy Djilas in ABC's The Music Man with Matthew Broderick and Kristin Chenoweth. Mr. Alves has toured throughout North America, Europe, and Japan in shows such as Fame: The Musical and A Chorus Line (in the role of Mike). He has performed off-Broadway in Altar Boyz and at City Center Encores! in Follies, Anyone Can Whistle, and Bells Are Ringing. He was most recently seen at the Saint Louis Muny as Will Parker in Oklahoma! and as Bill Calhoun in Shakespeare Theatre Company's Kiss Me Kate, for which he was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award. Mr. Alves is also a singer-songwriter and guitar player whose original music has been heard throughout New York City. He makes his San Francisco Symphony debut with these performances.
