Event Description
Internationally acclaimed pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet returns to Davies Symphony Hall for an evening dedicated to the subtle and moving genius of Claude Debussy. The French composer’s complete preludes for solo piano evoke the gorgeous colors of Impressionist painters and recreate the rich and expressive poetry of his contemporaries. Inspired by the sounds of Southern and Central Europe, as well as Indonesia, each prelude is a glimmering gem—catching the light and momentarily reflecting like a prism, then just as quickly, falling back into the shadows.
The San Francisco Symphony does not appear in this performance.
