Experience one of the great masters of the flute repertoire in recital, when Ireland’s internationally acclaimed James Galway takes the Davies Symphony Hall stage for the first time in nearly two decades. Nicknamed “The Man with the Golden Flute,” Galway—who celebrates his 80th birthday this year—shines in a showcase featuring celebrated works by Poulenc, Fauré, and Chaminade, along with spirited Irish folk songs.Galway is joined on stage by his wife, flutist Jeanne Galway, and Irish pianist Michael McHale, for showpiece trios that display the incredible talents of these master musicians.
The San Francisco Symphony does not appear in this performance.
