Event Description

Due to an extension of the Public Health Order prohibiting gatherings of 100 or more persons to slow the spread of COVID-19, there will be no concerts or events at Davies Symphony Hall through April 30. The San Francisco Symphony is working to reschedule this concert.

Those who have already purchased tickets to rescheduled concerts will be contacted directly when a new performance date is determined. We are asking ticket holders to hold their tickets until future dates can be confirmed.

Extraordinary French cellist Gautier Capuçon and piano dynamo Yuja Wang double down in a high-stakes program imbued with youthful vigor and emotional fervorTwo electrifying Chopin works open the concert: the highly entertaining and energetic Polonaise brillante, and the Cello Sonata, which demands its players match compelling color and artistry with astonishing dexterity at top speed. The evening concludes with a musical voyage of the soul: Belgian-French composer César Franck’s piece is widely considered to be one of the most reverberant and deeply felt sonatas ever written.
