Canadian soprano Nikki Einfeld’s appearances include engagements with the Berkeley Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Empyrean Ensemble, and at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra New Music Festival. She is a member of Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, with whom she recently portrayed photographer Dorothea Lang in the world premiere of Christopher Starks’s From the Field. She made her San Francisco Symphony debut performing Carmina burana in 2013.
Highlights of Ms. Einfeld’s recent operatic engagements include appearances with Calgary Opera as Gilda in Rigoletto; the Controller in Jonathan Dove’s Flight with Opera Parallèle; Diana in Martín y Soler’s The Chastity Tree with West Edge Opera; Curley’s Wife in Carlisle Floyd’s Of Mice and Men; Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with Vancouver Opera and New Orleans Opera; Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with West Bay Opera; the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor with Syracuse Opera and Green Mountain Opera Festival; and Ophélie in Hamlet with Opera Lyra Ottawa. Recent world premiere opera performances include Allen Shearer’s Howard’s End America as Margaret, the lead role in Death with Interruptions by Kurt Rohde, and several roles in San Francisco Opera’s production of Tobias Picker's Dolores Claiborne.
