Ginger Costa Jackson (A Herdsman, The Chinese Cup, The White Cat)
Ginger Costa-Jackson is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. The mezzo-soprano recently performed the role of Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Metropolitan Opera; the title role in Bizet’s Carmen with San Francisco Opera, Michigan Opera House, and Teatro de Bellas Artes; and made debuts with Opéra de Paris as Despina in Così fan tutte, Washington Concert Opera in Donizetti’s Maria di Rohan, and Los Angeles Opera as Maddalena in Rigoletto. She has also performed with the Santa Cruz Symphony, Seattle Opera, San Diego Opera, Opera Saratoga, and internationally in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Future engagements include Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Le nozze di Figaro in new productions at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, her return to Liceu Opera Barcelona as Giulietta in Tales of Hoffmann, Così fan tutte at Opéra de Paris, Don Giovanni at A Coruña Festival, Carmen with Opéra de Toulon, Rossini’s Cenerentola with Seattle Opera, and the role of Hélène in La belle Hélène in concert. These performances mark her San Francisco Symphony debut.
