Kelley O’Connor

Mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor has given the world premieres of John Adams’s The Gospel According to the Other Mary, Bryce Dessner’s Voy a Dormir, Joby Talbot’s A Sheen of Dew on Flowers, Osvaldo Golijov’s Ainadamar, and she continues to be a frequent interpreter of Peter Lieberson’s Neruda Songs. Operatic highlights include Carmen with Los Angeles Opera conducted by James Conlon, the title role of The Rape of Lucretia at Boston Lyric Opera, Anna Bolena at Lyric Opera of Chicago conducted by Patrick Summers, Madama Butterfly at Boston Lyric Opera and Cincinnati Opera, Falstaff with Santa Fe Opera, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Canadian Opera Company.

Ms. O’Connor’s discography includes a Grammy award-winning Deutsche Grammophon recording of Golijov’s Ainamadar with the Atlanta Symphony and Robert Spano, Mahler’s Third Symphony with Jaap van Zweden and the Dallas Symphony, Lieberson’s Neruda Songs with Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony, Adams’s The Gospel According to the Other Mary with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with Franz Welser-Möst and the Cleveland Orchestra, and Beethoven’s Mass in C major with the San Francisco Symphony and Michael Tilson Thomas for SFS Media. She made her San Francisco Symphony debut in 2008.
