THE SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES WORLD PREMIERE SCREENINGS OF CALL ME BY YOUR NAME JUNE 18 AND DISNEYPIXAR’S UP JULY 26–27, PERFORMED LIVE TO PICTURE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—The San Francisco Symphony (SFS) announces world premiere performances of award-winning films Call Me By Your Name, June 18 and Disney•Pixar’s Up, July 26–27 featuring the Orchestra performing the live accompaniment as the films are projected on a large screen above the stage at Davies Symphony Hall. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, written by James Ivory, and based on a novel by AndrĂ© Aciman, Call Me By Your Name is a 2017 coming-of-age romantic drama featuring music by Daniel Pemberton, with original songs by Sufjan Stevens and orchestrations by Thiago Tiberio. George Stelluto leads the SFS in the world premiere performance of Call Me By Your Name with live orchestra on June 18. Disney•Pixar’s Up, directed by Pete Docter, is a 2009 animated feature film with an award-winning score by composer Michael Giacchino. Constantine Kitsopoulos conducts the July 26–27 concerts of Disney•Pixar’s Up: In Concert Live to Film with the SF Symphonythe world premiere performances of the film with live orchestra.
