Upcoming Event: Deck the Hall, Sunday December 6, 2009

Join the Junior Committee of the San Francisco Symphony on Sunday, December 6 for Deck the Hall and become an Angel Donor. Deck the Hall is a holiday tradition, consisting of a family performance in Davies Symphony Hall with festive children's activities and entertainment following the performance. Angel Donors are invited to a special pre-performance celebration and receive premiere concert seating; Guardian Angel ticket holders or above are invited to the Angel Tree Lighting ceremony on December 2, when we light the holiday trees in Davies Symphony Hall.

Net proceeds of Deck the Hall benefit the San Francisco Symphony and its education and community programs. One such program that is made possible by your participation in Deck the Hall is Deck the Hall Community Day. The day following Deck the Hall, the performance is repeated free of charge to an audience of 2,000 underserved Bay Area children.  For many children, this is their first opportunity to visit a concert hall and experience a live orchestral performance.

To learn more about Deck the Hall or for information about sponsoring a Family Tree – which underwrites one of the holiday trees that lines the lobbies of Davies Symphony Hall for the month of December, please call 415.503.5500.

Opening Night Gala 2009

The Start of the Symphony’s 98th Season Michael Tilson Thomas celebrated the start of his 15th season with the San Francisco Symphony launching the 2009-10 season with classical music sensation Lang Lang on Wednesday, September 9.

Proceeds from the Opening Night Gala benefit the Orchestra's Education and Community programs, providing music education to more than 75,000 Bay Area children each year.

Chairman Jessa Wu and her Opening Night Gala committee led a successful campaign reaching at-capacity audiences in all three dinners which preceded the Opening Night concert.

The San Francisco Symphony gratefully acknowledges Opening the more than 2500 individuals and 25 Bay Area corporations which participated in Opening Night Gala 2009. View photos of Opening Night Gala here.
