These concerts have very limited availability. Please call our Box Office at (415) 864-6000 for turnbacks.

Hear the sound of Mahler's immense creation thundering throughout Davies Symphony Hall as hundreds of musicians, three choruses and soloists perform the symphony so epic in scope that it has been dubbed the "Symphony of A Thousand." Mahler's Eighth—a tale of damnation and salvation—is quintessentially a romantic work, but it owes a great debt to the towering Baroque choral works of J.S. Bach. These performances will be recorded live for our future releases as part of our ongoing Mahler recording project.

Free Inside Music talk by James Keller one hour prior to each concert.

The November 23 concert benefits the Orchestra’s Pension Fund.

Ticket exchange and group discount are not available for this performance. Side and Center Terrace seats are not available for these performances.

Please note that there is no intermission in these performances.
