Choral Workshops

Sing Out, Davies!

If you love to sing, come join one of our popular choral workshops led by Symphony Chorus Director Ragnar Bohlin. You’ll have a chance to explore great choral masterworks with the maestro, sing in a 400-voice community chorus in Davies Symphony Hall, and be coached by members of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus.

Sing Out, Davies! is open to all levels. Everyone is welcome, but space is limited and you must apply in advance to secure your place. Cost is $25 (fee waiver available based on need).

Our next workshop is a joyous celebration of American music featuring the Symphony's Choral Director Emeritus Vance George.

Sunday, January 10
6:30 - 9:30 pm

Vance George, workshop leader

  • Samuel Barber:  Sure on this Shining NIght

KALW public radio's Crosscurrents visits Sing Out, Davies!

Twice a year the San Francisco Symphony hosts workshops called “Sing Out Davies”, as part of the symphony's Community of Music Makers program. For one evening, singers from around the Bay Area come together to make music as one.  KALW's Alyssa Kapnik stood among them for a recent workshop and brought back their impressions of what it's like to be an ordinary person in such an extraordinary experience.

Featuring Sing Out, Davies! participants Susie Orb, David Silverman and Linda Holbrook.
