Located on the Peninsula in the South Bay, this League was founded in 1974 to support the San Francisco Symphony and its music education and outreach programs.
The Mid-Peninsula League offers its members opportunities that enrich their San Francisco Symphony experience and bring the Symphony to children in their community.
In addition to producing an annual garden event, Symphony in Flowers, members raise funds through round-robin bridge groups and bridge-luncheon tournaments throughout the year.
The League’s Ravenswood Project reaches more than 350 students in East Palo Alto. Member volunteers, trained as docents in the San Francisco Symphony’s Concerts for Kids program, engage in a six-week instructional series designed to help them introduce elementary school children to symphonic music, prepare the students for a Concerts for Kids program at Davies Symphony Hall, and serve as chaperones.
The League meets monthly on Mondays and includes programs featuring musicians, speakers and other local artists.
