The Marin League of the San Francisco Symphony was founded in 1965 by North Bay residents who support and enjoy the San Francisco Symphony. It is one of nine volunteer groups in the Bay Area coordinated by the Symphony’s Volunteer Council. The League’s mission is to encourage community service, support the Symphony in audience development, and raise funds for the Symphony’s community and education programs.
The League’s primary community focus is music education through the San Francisco Symphony’s Concerts for Kids program. Interested league members train as docents and prepare students from schools around the Bay Area to attend Concert for Kids programs performed by the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Symphony Hall.
Throughout the year, League members enjoy a variety of local social and musical events, and San Francisco Symphony concerts at Davies Symphony Hall. Monthly general meetings are held in the evening, and include a business meeting followed by either a musical performance or educational speaker.
The League’s annual fundraiser this year is the Spring Fling—an evening of elegant food, vibrant wines and live music by the Doc Kraft Dance Band and vocalist Tiger Lyn. Join us on Saturday, March 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at the Corte Madera Community Center. Per person cost is $50.00
