2016-17 SeasonIt’s the biggest, brightest, most glamorous party of the season! Toast sparkling wine and walk the red carpet in luxurious style—then sit back and enjoy a spectacular concert conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas featuring Renée Fleming, whose “dazzling technique and glamorous persona make her the complete package,” (St. Paul Star Tribune) and “America’s favorite mezzo” (Gramophone) Susan Graham. End the night dancing to live music at the After-Party with fare, libations, and more!

Make a whole night of it! Four unique Dinner Packages that include premium seating for the concert are available for purchase online or by contacting the Volunteer Council at 415-503-5500.

How many pianos does it take to ring in a new season? In 1985 MTT led the San Francisco Symphony in Liszt’s Hexameron, a work for orchestra and six pianos. This year’s Opening Night Gala will feature Steve Reich’s Three Movements, which calls for two vibraphones, two marimbas, and two pianos, all placed center stage in front of the orchestra.
