Travel to other worlds and back as the San Francisco Symphony performs Holst’s orchestral suite, The Planets. Inspired by ancient astrology, the composer evokes each celestial deity, from Mars’ short temper to Venus’ beautiful tranquility, Jupiter’s jovial dance, and Neptune’s mystical wisdom. Conductor Edwin Outwater leads this other-worldly evening of expressive music.
