Japanese icon Yoshiki is best known as the songwriter and frontman of the rock band X Japan, but his new solo album of original instrumental works, “Yoshiki Classical”, has “illuminat[ed] the beauty in classical music to rock and pop audiences around the world” (BeatsMedia). For one night only, Yoshiki brings the “huge melodies” (ClassicFM) of his new album to the Davies Symphony Hall stage playing solo piano with string quartet accompaniment, combining the musicianship of a classically-trained pianist with the showmanship of a rock legend.
The San Francisco Symphony does not appear on this concert.
