THE SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY PRESENTS GREAT PERFORMERS

The Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, Russia’s oldest symphony orchestra and one of its most hallowed cultural institutions, appears as part of the Great Performers Series under the baton of its celebrated music director Yuri Temirkanov. The orchestra brings music by three compatriot composers: Rimsky-Korsakov, contemporary Georgian composer Giya Kancheli, and Tchaikovsky, whose powerful First Piano Concerto features young Russian virtuoso Denis Kozhukhin.
