Abigail Nims

Abigail Nims (Niece 2) makes appearances this season in Handel’s Messiah with the Virginia Symphony, as Melanto in Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in patria with Boston Baroque, in a semi-staged performance and recording, and Mahler’s Rückert Lieder at the Colorado MahlerFest. Ms. Nims’s recordings include Martin Bresnick’s song cycle Falling (featured on the album Every Thing Must Go) and the role of Veruca Salt in Peter Ash’s The Golden Ticket, both on Albany Records. She holds degrees from Yale School of Music, Westminster Choir College, and Ohio Wesleyan University. She was a Virginia Adams Fellow at the Carmel Bach Festival, an apprentice artist at Santa Fe Opera, and a young artist with Opera North. Ms. Nims is currently a member of the voice faculty at the University of Colorado-Boulder. She made her San Francisco Symphony debut in 2011.
